The Preacher Said Jesus Said
Проповедник сказал, что сказал Иисус
Well with everybody trying to tell us what to do
Пусть все, кому не лень, нас учат жить,
You wonder how are you to know whose word is true
Лишь нам решать, чьим словом дорожить.
But the preacher just keep on a bringing us a very same word
Но проповедь одну приносят всем
And from St Paul to Billy Graham the same is heard
Апостол Павел или Билли Грэм:
And the preacher said of truth Jesus said
То, что сказал об истине Иисус.
(And Jesus said I'm the way the truth and the life)
(Иисус сказал: "Я есть путь и истина и жизнь")
Well we can see that the world is full of greed
Наш мир исполнен алчности, беды,
There's so much hate yet there is so much need
И злобы он исполнен и нужды,
What should we do when no one seems to care
Что делать, если всем на всё плевать,
What can we do when there is no love there
И о любви никто не хочет знать?
And then the preacher said of love Jesus said
А знать лишь надо, что сказал Иисус.
(Jesus said love Thy neighbor as Thyself)
(Иисус сказал: "Возлюби ближнего, как самого себя")
Well please tell us the road we oughta go
Как выбрать среди тысячи дорог,
In such confusion how are we to know
Нам, проповедник, преподай урок,
And if there is a heaven show us to its gates
И если в небе рай, ты нас наставь,
Oh you'd better tell us preacher before it's too late
Скажи скорее, где его врата?
And then the preacher said of heaven Jesus said
Он скажет, что про рай сказал Иисус.
(Jesus said seek the first the kingdom of God and his righteousness
(Иисус сказал: "Ищите Царства Божия и правды его,
And all these things shall be added unto you)
а остальное приложится вам")
Well please tell us we can find a way
Но, ради Бога, укажи нам, как
To climb every mountain that we face every day
По этим скалам влезть на облака,
And time of troubles what to depend upon
Как выжить в наше время смут и бед,
To be the truth and help us carry on
Скажи нам правду... Скажет он в ответ
And the preacher said of trouble Jesus said
Лишь то, что про беду сказал Иисус.
(Jesus said let not your heart be troubled if you believe in God believe also in me
(Иисус сказал: "Да не смущается сердце ваше; веруйте в Бога, и в Меня веруйте.
In my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you
В доме Отца Моего обителей много. А если бы не так, Я сказал бы вам:
I go to prepare a place for you
Я иду приготовить место вам.
And if I prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself
И когда пойду и приготовлю вам место, приду опять и возьму вас к Себе,
That where I am there you may be also)
чтобы и вы были, где Я".)
